The houses that comprise the resort are sheltered by established trees, and there’s a good restaurant and bar overlooking the family friendly beach where guests can unwind, enjoy some good food and watch the world go by. The resort has a large indoor heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna, 2 tennis courts , pool and table tennis tables, and a children's play area. There are rock pools to explore and a great beachside café selling everything from ice creams, teas and coffees to fresh crab sandwiches. If one beach just isn’t enough, Falmouth’s Gyllyngvase beach and pretty Swanpool cove are both within two miles.

Holidays in Maenporth can be as action-packed or relaxing as you wish. Whilst you can enjoy tranquil beach days soaking up the beautiful views, you can also try your hand at a whole host of water sports. From Maenporth beach you can hire kayaks and paddleboards and explore the stunning coastline by water, or you can take the plunge and learn to dive with Seaways Diving School - the sheltered waters make it ideal for beginners.

The South West Coast Path runs through Maenporth offering stunning walks in every direction, so don’t forget to pack your trainers. Walk for two miles to reach the vibrant harbour town of Falmouth or head in the opposite direction to reach Helford Passage and its brilliant waterside pub, discovering hidden coves along the way.

You don’t have to travel far for good food, as Maenporth is home to an award-winning restaurant, The Cove. Set on the edge of the beach, it has a large terrace where you can enjoy an alfresco lunch or post dog walk coffee whilst enjoying the uninterrupted views of Falmouth Bay. April 2024

We love Life's a beach, fantastic location, great food and coffee, really friendly staff.

October 2023

Life's a Beach is on the top ten of my favourite places in the world. The setting is glorious, right on the beach with coastal walks available in both directions and it's open 7 days a week. The menu is perfect (in my book) and the food much more delicious than you might expect from a beach cafe. My only criticism is that it isn't open 24 hours a day!

Lovely coffee and cakes

May 2023

Excellent pub - great food and service would pop in again.

October 2021

The staff were brilliant but the food was just average, I'm afraid. We would not be likely to go there again.

June 2021

We ate here in the first couple of days of our stay. The staff were very friendly, as were the 'locals' and there is a good choice of seating areas and a varied menu. Food quality was very good and the service was prompt, all at a fair price. Would definitely go back. The Boar burger was lush !!

August 2019

We ate in The Red Lion and found the food to be well cooked and a decent portion. Service was prompt and well worth a visit.

We would love to visit Glendurgan, but cannot do so until they become dog-friendly. In contrast, Trebah gardens nearby allow dogs and they do not appear to cause any problems.

Beautiful gardens. Enjoyable walk down the gully to the village and beach. Then the steep walk back! Lovely sub tropical plants, nice cafe at the top

May 2022

Beautiful gardens with lovely cafe and second hand bookshop.

October 2021

Gardens have been kept lovely but unfortunately there were staff shortages so long queues for food or ice cream. There were no plants to buy this year but that is hardly surprising. The staff all worked very hard to make the visit pleasant. They deserve a medal!

Fantastic beach

April 2024

Lovely and clean, beautiful.

October 2023

Absolutely loved Maenporth. Lovely sheltered beach with fantastic cafe

August 2023

Lovely beach but early morning dog owners do not on occasion clean up on their dogs. We had to borrow a shovel on two occasions to clear the mess

August 2023

If you think this will be a quiet, hidden gem then you’d couldn’t be more wrong. It’s a very busy, active beach with lots to do and changing tides. We felt very blessed to be staying so close so we didn’t have to arrive super early to get a car parking space. Loved how safe it felt most of time, except when the fog came rolling in as fast as a wave! Enjoyed paddling, swimming, rock-pooling, playing with local dogs (after hours), someone built an incredible pyramid sandcastle which the kids and adults enjoyed.

August 2023

This beach is beautiful! Not too busy and everything is within a short distance.

July 2023

My favourite beach. Sunrise from here is something else!

April 2023

Used the beach but time off visit big waves so paddle boarding out off the question but had great fun on the body boards. Not a crowed beach parking prices reasonable, parking right on the beach .

September 2022

Lovely beach our third year in a row. The only problem which is not unique to this beach, is weaver fish. I do think visitors need to be made more aware of the adviseability of wearing beach shoes to protect against this problem. I think all beaches should have signs to this effect.

August 2022

Mix of sand and shingle beach. Quite a bit of seaweed when we were there but of the lettuce type so not too problematic. Not much in the way of waves so not good for body boarding but good for paddle boards or kayaks and swimming. Nice little take out cafe.

August 2022

Lovely beach and so convenient to Maenporth Estate. Shame about the seaweed that arrived! But beautiful nonetheless.

August 2022

Lovely beach

July 2022

Wonderful beach, very clean. Lovely view , didn’t use coffee shop so can’t comment.

June 2022

A lovely, perfect beach, ideal for everyone and great for rock pooling. Really clean too.

June 2022

Beautiful...although it did say no dogs, and there were plenty!

June 2022

Love this beach never tire of the view

October 2021

Lovely 'out of the way' beach with great outlook. Can be a bit 'smelly' when the tide it out in the lagoon nearby but does not distract from the beach or surrounds.

September 2021

Beautiful beach a hidden gem

September 2021

Great beach with a mix of sand and stones. Interesting caves when the tide is out. The tide goes out quite far so a bit of a walk to the sea but great for kids and adults alike.

September 2021

Lovely secluded beach -safe for children and doing water sports. Cafe and toilets nearby. Only downside no tap to wash sand off feet.

September 2021

Beautiful

September 2021

A bustling and busy sandy beach offering water sports and swimming and yet without the crowds of other parts of Cornwall. The coastal walks from there are glorious too.

September 2021

Great beach.

August 2021

Love this beach. It’s just stunning. Definitely returning.

August 2021

This is a great beach for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, exploring caves and rock pooling. Clean clear water, easy car parking and toilets plus a little cafe.

July 2021

Nice beach but disappointed that many dogs were running free on it. Witnessed several dogs pooing on the beach. This is supposed to be a dog free beach from Easter to October and I visited in June. Does no one police this blatant ignoring of the rules?!!

July 2021

Lovely Sandy beach with great cafe, toilets, parking and coast paths to enjoy.

July 2021

Fantastic holiday in a beautiful location. The holiday home was spacious, clean & the whole site was Covid friendly. We chose this holiday as we felt it was the safest option during these difficult times and everything about it came up to & beyond our expectations. My granddaughter especially enjoyed using the children's playground & indoor pool. The booking procedure and use of the swimming pool was ideal. Well organised. Many, many thanks. We came home feeling relaxed after a great week.

September 2020

Best beach in the area, its like been on a Greek island when the sun is shining

September 2020

Better beach than Swan pool, ideal for young children, gently sloping, perfect for water sports

August 2020

Really convenient if staying at maenporth estate. Mix of sand, shingle and rocks. Great for rock pooling. Calm sea so safe for families and watersports such as paddle boarding and kayaking. Wasn't overcrowded even when very warm!

August 2020

Beautiful quiet cove idyllic spot

July 2020

great beach complete with smugglers cave

November 2019

Lovely beach with decent facilities, but beach needs regular cleaning even after bank Holiday week

September 2019

This is a fabulous family friendly beach as it is quite sheltered. A great place to paddle board, relax and eat ice cream! You do need to get there early as the car park and beach fills up really quickly. I would also recommend beach shoes as several people were stung by weaver fish who were hiding in the sand as the tide went out. Definitely worth a visit ????

August 2019

Perfect beach

June 2019

Lovely beach ,best off season.

June 2019

A beautiful beach and wonderful setting.

Nansidwell Beach (Woodlands Beach)
(Less than a mile)

Found between Maenporth and Mawnan Smith, this is a small, pretty sandy beach with some shingle and rocks accessed by footpath from the road. It’s a five to ten minute walk, meaning the beach itself is often quiet and uncrowded with lovely swimming. No amenities though and the walk isn’t suitable for buggies or those with limited mobility. Also known as Woodlands Beach. Dogs allowed all year round.

Bream Cove
(Less than a mile)

A pretty sheltered cove in a secluded setting surrounded by low cliffs and woodland, Bream Cove consists of a sand and shingle beach dipping down to clear water with excellent swimming and snorkelling.  At low water rock pools are exposed which children will love to explore and it’s possible to scramble over the rocks to the sandy beach next door at Gatamala Cove. There are no facilities here and no car park, but there are parking spaces on the nearby road between Maenporth and Rosemullion Head close to the Meuden Hotel, with access to the beach via footpath. Dogs welcome all year.

A lovely beach but does get a bit crowded sometimes. Parking can be a problem in busy times too.

September 2021

Even in the middle of what has been one of the busiest summers cornwall has seen, this still offered space and attractions without the crowds. Loved being able to take the dog for a swim before 10am and after 6pm

September 2021

Lovely beach and costal walk

September 2020

Lovely beach, not fine sand but ideal for Kayaking and paddleboarding

August 2020

A lovely beach, plenty of parking, sheltered, 2 good cafe/ restaurants - whats not to like

August 2019

September 2023

A most enjoyable stay in this property with a wonderful view - and the weather was excellent for September.

We normally have good weather in September, usually as soon as the children go back to school! Saying that, we have a chilly, dark day today, so you definitely chose the right dates. I do hope we'll see you again in the future!

- The Toad Hall Team

May 2023

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as we used to stay at the property when it was first built with our two children when they were young. And this was a trip down memory lane with our daughter and our 1st granddaughter of eight months. Toad halls service was excellent, easy booking and to contact.

Oh my goodness, how nostalgic for you all! I hope your granddaughter loved the place as much as you do! Thanks for the feedback regarding the fans - we'll take a look! Thank you so much for your kind words.

April 2023

The apartment was lovely with incredible views. The welcome pack was appreciated. The leisure centre was great to have

That all sounds pretty good to me! Glad you enjoyed your stay (and the Welcome goodies!). Regarding the water pressure, I'm so sorry. I think there was a pressure issue across the whole estate as you aren't the first guests to mention it. Please do let us know during your stay next time as we might have been able to resolve it. Many thanks

- The Toad Hall Team

October 2022

yes. Toad hall v helpful as ever. expensive for short break, but understand a lot of that cleaning, but with only 2 tidy ,clean people , perhaps les sof a clean is necessary?

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I do understand your point and will take your valued feedback on board as we move forward.

- The Toad Hall Team

June 2022

The views from the balcony were beautiful. The decor is dated, but the property was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The caretaker was prompt in sorting out an electrical issue that we experienced. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay.

Fantastic! I'm so pleased we met your expectations! I do hope we will see you again in the future!

- The Toad Hall Team

October 2021

An absolutely fabulous property and great location

That's so wonderful to hear! Many thanks!

- The Toad Hall Team

September 2021

I left a note regarding a few observations. The oven pan was not clean. The cafetiere was chipped. No information regarding bags for the sheets and towels so I left the sheets on the foot of the beds and the towels in the bath. However we love Maenporth and no 33 and enjoyed our holiday.

Many thanks! I'm so sorry we missed a couple of issues, but it was lovely to chat with you on Saturday! We look forward to seeing you again next year!

- The Toad Hall Team

July 2021

TV could do with being updated as it had an annoying buzzing on its sound quality.

Many thanks for the info. We will investigate to see whether we can sort the issue, or whether the TV needs replacing.

- The Toad Hall Team

July 2021

We had a fantastic holiday. The apartment was clean, comfortable, well equipped and what a fabulous view. Also the estate gardens and leisure facilities were excellent and well maintained.

Wow, I'm so pleased you loved your time with us Maenporth. Many thanks about your note regarding the induction hob - we're on it!

June 2021

Very satisfi5

We're so pleased you found 33 Lower Stables to your satisfaction. We do look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

- The Toad Hall Team

October 2020

The downstairs shower hose needs replacing. It is worn at the shower head and leaking at the main inlet on the wall. The kitchen tap also drips. May I suggest that labels are put on the plug sockets to indicate which items apply.

September 2020

We felt that 33 Lower Stables was a bit tired. Obviously the location and sea view makes it outstanding and we had a good holiday, but the furnishings and decor are a little dated. The kitchen cupboards are designed for very tall people ( seriously have you ever tried to get something from the top shelf?) And the same is true for the fridge. The bathroom is perfectly functional and very clean, but clearly hasn’t been updated since the 1990’s. Definitely time for an upgrade!

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave feedback. Some renovation work was planned for the spring but alas, Covid prevented it from happening. We really appreciate the comments!

- The Toad Hall Team

August 2020

Despite having a very late check in time due to the extra cleaning needed due to covid we found sweet wrappers on the floor which had been missed when cleaning. The rest of the cleaning was satisfactory but not impeccable given the amount of time allocated.

We're so sorry you experienced problems with the cleaning. It's such a shame you didn't bring this to our attention whilst you were here as we could have sorted things out for you.

- The Toad Hall Team

October 2019

The property was very comfortable, spacious with beautiful views. We would book no 33 again.

I'm so pleased that you loved 33 Lower Stables, Mrs P. We look forward to welcoming you back again next year.

6th August 2018 - A great stay in a wonderful location. The house was ideal for our needs and only a short walk down to the excellent beach, cafe & Cove restaurant.

January 2019

This is a lovely apartment, only 10 minutes' walk to the gorgeous Maenporth beach. The kitchen / dining / sitting area is a great size and leads onto the east-facing balcony with fabulous sea views. There are chairs and a coffee table on the balcony - not quite suitable for breakfast, but a lovely place to sit with a cup of coffee. The beds were very comfortable (although the pillows weren't particularly) and the main bedroom faces the sea. There was plenty of space to put clothes but not really anywhere to hang towels other than very small towel rails in the bathroom and shower room. (The towels provided were fab and absolutely enormous!) The kitchen is well-equipped, but a little dated now. There was washing up liquid and a couple of dishwasher tablets as well as tea towels and a dishcloth. The dishwasher did not work on our arrival but was fixed after a couple of days. The oven was also rather old and surprisingly difficult to use. There is a washing machine / dryer (old, but it works). We had to put the immersion heater on every afternoon as there was not enough hot water in the evenings. The well-maintained all-weather tennis courts on the estate are excellent. There is no booking system, but we were always able to get a court. We didn't use the indoor pool but it looked lovely and was never particularly busy. There is an adult-only swim first thing in the morning. The only real problem was that there is no wifi in the property, although there is wifi in the main leisure centre which is open from about 8.30am until 7.30pm. We would definitely return to the apartment if wifi was installed. The service we received from Holiday Cornwall in response to our queries was outstanding and the welcome pack was great!

We're pleased to confirm that wifi is now installed and working well in 33 Lower Stables. It doesn't have a tumble dryer though.
