This converted former farm building is within view of Dartmoor National Park’s most famed beauty spot and well loved ancient tor, Haytor Rock, and now provides three fantastic holiday properties.  They have been sympathetically converted and beautifully styled and furnished with a blend of warming moorland colours and cosy soft-furnishings which are complemented with modern luxury amenities.

Haytor View, the end barn will delight both families and couples alike. As the name suggests, it boasts unrivalled views of Haytor Rock from several of its rooms.  The light and airy stylish dining kitchen leads down into a comfortable lounge area with French doors opening out onto a patio and garden with views over the meadow in front.

Rural, yet not isolated, the peaceful location will dazzle the senses for those seeking outdoor pursuits as well as those wanting a restful holiday at any time of year.  Each of the properties boasts stunning views across open wild sweeping moorland as well as across rolling Devon countryside towards the sparkle of the South Devon coastline.  Dartmoor ponies are likely to nuzzle at the property’s gate.

Whether on foot or on bike, there are endless routes straight from the front doors, and the many mysterious Dartmoor tales will captivate the imaginations of all ages.  The historic quarries at Haytor are just a short walk away, from where you can follow the Haytor Granite Tramway, tracing the route to the coast used when granite was exported during the late 18th Century.  For cyclists, Haytor is a regular Tour of Britain stage.

For more restful pursuits there is a fabulous cafe bar offering delicious local goodies, a wonderful Dartmoor Inn and restaurant, and a National Park Visitor Centre that will equip guests with plentiful local information within a short stroll of the barns.  Just slightly further afield, within a mile or so, there is a well stocked farm shop as well as a selection of picturesque village inns and tearooms; and just beyond that a wider selection of amenities are found within Bovey Tracey. Beyond Dartmoor, the shops, theatres, and cinemas of Exeter are not far away.

The local beaches of Teignmouth, Shaldon, Dawlish and Collaton Cove are around 30 minute drive away. Day trips to the South Hams and beaches also offer a great alternative for a fun day-out.

Please note:

  • This property can be booked together with The Hayloft and The Wool Store (subject to availability of course), providing accommodation for groups of up to 14 guests;
  • This property accommodates 6 across 3 bedrooms but due to the size of the lounge area, the property is better suited to a maximum of 5 adults.

The front door opens into a social open plan living space.

Dining area with a glass topped table comfortably accommodates six.

The Kitchen is fully equipped with a selection of appliances to include an induction hob, built-in oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer and washing machine.

Three steps lead down into the living area which is furnished with a corner sofa, a further sofa, Smart TV with DVD player and French doors which open onto the garden patio.

To the other side of the front door, ground floor bedroom 1 boasts a 5ft king bed, views towards Haytor and an ensuite shower room with large shower enclosure, washbasin and WC.

On the first floor, a spacious landing is furnished with a table and chairs from which enjoy a quiet relaxation space and a view towards Haytor Rock.

Bedroom 2 overlooks the garden and is furnished with a 5ft king size bed and TV.

Spacious bedroom 3 has twin 3ft single beds and has views of open moorland.

All bedrooms are equipped with a chest of drawers and open hanging rails.

Family bathroom with WC, basin and bath with shower over.

Grassed garden with paved patio and wooden picnic bench.

As one of Dartmoor’s most iconic landmarks, Haytor and the surrounding area make a magical base for anyone looking for a truly rural escape. The tor itself is Dartmoor’s biggest, and draws visitors year-round to climb the granite outcrops which offer wonderful views of sweeping moorland, rolling countryside, the beautiful Teign Estuary, and the stunning coastline beyond.

Easily accessible from Devon’s major through-road, Haytor provides great access to nearby Exeter (with its Cathedral, theatres, shops and restaurants), the rest of the moor, and some spectacular coastline. Explore the vast wild beauty of the moor on foot, bike or horseback, or simply relax and soak up the peaceful tranquillity of the picturesque setting.

On Dartmoor, a friendly pub, country house or restaurant is never too far away. Haytor itself enjoys a great moorland café bar and a traditional Dartmoor Inn, whilst just a few miles away you can explore delightful villages such as Widecombe-in-the-Moor, home to the fantastic Rugglestone Inn which is everything a Dartmoor pub restaurant should be.

With horse-riding, cycle paths, kayaking, and rock climbing among the activities on offer on the moor, there are plenty of outdoor pursuits to keep you busy. Meanwhile, nearby attractions such as Becky Falls, Pennywell Farm, the Butterflies & Otters Sanctuary, the steam trains at South Devon Railway, Exeter’s Crealy Adventure Park (to name but a few!) make for brilliant family days out.

If you fancy a day at the beach, the coast at Teignmouth is just a half hour's drive away, and the wonderful beaches of the South Hams are less than an hour away.

A holiday cottage in Haytor provides the perfect spot for a relaxing Dartmoor holiday in a truly peaceful rural setting, yet with a vast variety of things to see and do within easy reach.

Sunday lunch was a bit disappointing but the lunches during the week were really good. Staff are very friendly.

December 2023

No daily specials so the same choice every day. Food tasty and well presented but the limited menu put us off eating there more often.

September 2023

Really great place to eat and in a lovely setting. The very best battered cod we had ever ate. A little more vegetarian choice would be very welcome

May 2023

Very dog friendly. Grandson (aged 4) loved the children's burger and we all loved the garden. Shout out to the bar manager who remembered us from a previous visit.

May 2023

Very friendly staff and dog friendly too. We enjoyed our meals there but portions aren’t enormous but good quality food. If the weather is good then the gardens are perfect for a drink and relaxing in with your dog.

September 2022

Visited for a lunchtime drink, largely out of curiosity (we knew it when HF ran it for walking holidays - very much spruced up since then, though I regret the loss of the lovely flagstones in reception & possibly the black silk wallpaper & outrageous chandelier!) The Devon cider & ale were good & the decor pleasant, though not so sure about the rather intrusive music. Service pleasant & others seemed to be enjoying their lunches off a fairly extensive menu. Downside is the 4* hotel prices on drinks - much dearer than either The Cleave at Lustleigh or The Kestor Inn at Manaton.

June 2022

We love the food at this hotel (Quality at a very reasonable price). We dined here regularly in both restaurants whilst staying in a cottage nearby with my partner's father staying at the hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. When her father sadly had to be taken to hospital to have his ulcer treated the manager and her staff assisted us admirably, the Manager calling the ambulance and giving the relevant details to the service provider. Thankyou so much and best wishes to you all at The Moorland.

Outstanding every time

February 2024

We had two meals here and both were excellent. Staff really lovely.

December 2023

A really nice pub with a lovely garden but odd opening hours.

June 2023

Superb setting. The garden is wonderful. Food was first class but a little more vegetarian choice would be good

May 2023

It would be nice to be able to review the drinks and food but when we walked in there wasn't a soul to be seen despite the door being open the pub was deserted. The garden looked lovely. After waiting several minutes we left and went to the Tinpickle & Rhum.

May 2023

Looks like a country pub from the outside but is more a hotel/restaurant inside. We didn’t eat but the food looked good. Really nice garden and good beer. Also dog friendly but only certain spaces inside.

September 2022

We know this establishment from many previous visits over several years and can recommend it highly. It is in a beautiful location and serves excellent food. There is always a friendly welcome there.

August 2021

Awesome. Beautiful garden for pre dinner drinks. Excellent menu and quality of food and service.

June 2021

Had two meals at Rock Inn. Small menu but delicious food - especially the Lobster Bisque Risotto starter.

June 2021

Great pub, but really disappointed with the food. Better pubs in the area - especially The Old Inn up at Widecombe

May 2021

Lovely pub with a great garden, very friendly. My only recommendation would be to introduce a lite bite and sandwiches to their lunch time menu.

July 2019

Good food and service

June 2019

Fantastic Sunday lunch, great service.

June 2019

Really welcoming place, lovely garden and nice quirky interior to the pub. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Food absolutely yummy, perhaps a little expensive, but perfect for a special evening out.

May 2018

Superb evening meal. Fantastic quality, good choices and professional service. Very attractive interior too.

February 2018

The staff were very helpful and pleasant and it was a cosy traditional rural venue. The food was very good although small portions and I would say a little overpriced. Overall did enjoy this venue.

February 2024

A great place to shop

September 2023

Excellent, reasonably priced Breakfast. It was great to have the animals and play area for the children too.

July 2023

Great place to take the family. Toy tractor barn and goats to feed for the kids. Super food. But cafe gets very busy and you need to book.

June 2023

Excellent local farm shop. Meat really good.

June 2023

Child and dog friendly. Lots of animals for small people to see and pet and excellent breakfast!

May 2023

Fantastic place for food and ice creams. Lovely staff and fantastic range of things to do for young children. Well worth a visit. We went twice during our week at the wool store.

July 2022

A Nice, family friendly place. Their menu has a lot of choices but as we had a late lunch there on a Father’s Day, they have run out of a few options. What we had was still tasty though.

June 2022

Amazing!!

March 2022

Reasonably priced cafe with unadventurous hot food menu, I.e. burgers, fish and chips. Thumbs up for the home made raspberry jam available from the shop. Good play areas for kids.

October 2021

It was very busy whenever we went and we were unable to get a table. There appeared to insufficient staff to keep tables cleared.

July 2021

Very friendly staff. Had a wonderful takeaway cream tea.

May 2021

Great facilities and shop, especially for children!

May 2021

Very nice place to eat, food good reasonable prices, quite comfortable and clean.

October 2020

Had a lovely meal here. There was a good atmosphere and the cafe was nicely decorated in Halloween theme for the kids. The shop stocked lots of local food and goods though a bit pricey. Felt safe regarding their Covid procedures.

October 2020

Good farm shop. Unfortunately unable to book a place in cafe.

September 2020

Excellent breakfast

September 2019

Superb food, great service. If you're looking for a good breakfast to get you started in the morning, this is the place to come!

July 2019

Great place for lunch, or just coffee. Good food, friendly staff and dogs welcome. Visit the excellent butchers while you are there.

June 2019

Well worth a visit, gorgeous setting and wonderful food!

August 2018

One of the best quality cooked breakfasts we have ever had! Great value for money.

February 2018

The pasties from here are lovely. We also got a lot of our gifts to take home from here. Great products on sale and very friendly staff.

October 2017

We were staying just up the road from this great place, so called in for lunch with my son and family, who joined us from Torquay. The place was quit busy, but the staff were really helpful, and let us know the approximate wait for our meal. This turned up fairly quickly and was excellent. The size of the steak and ale pie has to be seen to be believed! Will definitely call in again.

September 2017

Made a couple of visits during our stay, not a huge selection but lovely pies. Also tried the local wine & some of the coffee's. Worth a visit.

September 2017

We were staying a mile away near HayTor for two weeks in June and used this excellent farm shop most days. The friendly staff make you feel welcome and the service is very efficient. We ate there several days and as much as we could used it as an alternative to supermarket shopping. The meals are excellent and the cakes are works of art!

July 2017

A fabulous little farm shop and cafe. We stopped here for lunch when we arrived and breakfast during the week. We picked up all our meat from the onsite butcher, but there seemed less choice in the shop compared with our visit last year.

April 2024

Highly recommended, the animals and the walk around the falls very enjoyable

September 2023

Expensive to park the car £9 per passenger didn’t bother

June 2022

We had a great visit to Becky Falls and completed all of the walking trails. The visitors centre provided games, a petting zoo, a gift shop and refreshments and the staff were friendly and helpful

June 2022

A rip off. We have similar, but more scenic, attraction in Cornwall with free access.

May 2022

Not impressed. A rip-off we have one in Cornwall that is free and very picturesque.

September 2021

pleasant place to visit. We chose to do the shorter red route, which gave excellent views of the falls, but involved clambering over boulders, which was a little too adventurous for us. Generally the advice and signage for the walking routes could be improved

September 2020

Loved this lovely walk

worth a visit if in the area

April 2024

Very interesting place to visit. A lovely gift shop, items of quality on sale. Ability to see glassblowing, and try the many marble runs. The restaurant is very good, serving tasty food , the ploughman’s is particularly appetising.

October 2023

Great family attraction. Fascinating to watch the glass blowers and all the marble runs. Lovely shop and cafe. Great food.

June 2023

Dog-friendly place which is a bonus. Nice place to pop into but items expensive

March 2023

Worst visit ever. Service was poor and staff made no eye contact so it was difficult to get their attention.

August 2021

We spent a very pleasant and interesting morning here . Cafe was very good and plenty to see and do. Staff were excellent

July 2021

An interesting place to browse, with lots of variety. The museum bits are informative (local pottery industry, some glass) & the standing kilns well preserved, so good the industrial archaeology is being kept safe. Nice cafe, unusual furniture, mirrors etc & some clothing for sale, but Teign Valley Glass is the best - made on site & free to watch. Lots of marbles too & quirky, intriguing marble runs are fun. Good on the way to or from other places.

June 2021

Very interesting for the children. A bit tight in terms of space and distancing in places.

Far from the bustling crowds of Paignton and Brixham’s bigger beaches, this small pebbly cove is a truly relaxing spot. The calm waters are great for swimming and are said to have been one of Agatha Christie’s favourite bathing spots. Elberry Cove even features in one of her crime thriller novels, The ABC Murders. This picture-perfect cove, surrounded by sloping wooded hillsides and crystal clear water, can only be accessed by the coast path, with the nearest carpark at Broadsands Beach. From here, it is only a 10 - 15 minute walk, but make sure to pack a picnic or grab a bite to eat at Broadsands Beach before you set off, as there aren’t any facilities at here. Dogs are welcome on the beach throughout the year.

Our very first visit to Haytor Barns! What an amazing place and location. We had a fabulous stay and an excellent experience at Haytor. A clean comfortable environment for us as a family! Can't wait to come back.

April 2022

We think this was our 14th stay in the property and we will be back soon.

April 2022

A very comfortable cottage with glorious views. We had an excellent week and wish we could have stayed longer. A minor problem with the wifi was fixed very promptly.

April 2022

Great week, wonderful weather, if chilly. Enjoyed the house and its facilities. Grandchildren apparently found lots of Pokemon's on the moors - great for extended walks. Second visit and will come back.

March 2022

As always a well turned out property, clean and everything you need for a home from home.

March 2022

Great stay.

February 2022

Although the weather has not been kind to us we have enjoyed our stay in Haytor view. Thank you for all the updates regarding the storms and for the refund for our missed first nights stay. Ullacombe farm cafe is worth a visit as is the House of Marbles in Bovey. The property had everything we needed. We would hope to return when the weather is a little ‘moor’ friendly.

February 2022

Our second visit within a Year! The weather was awful, but this made us enjoy the cottage even more. Cosy, well equipped and very helpful owner. The farm shop cafe is a brilliant place to visit and eat. Totnes is one of our favourite towns in the UK - so many interesting shops and the Beer Library is a great pub to spend the evening. Room 101 pizza is delicious and can be eaten in the pub too. Lovely to be on Dartmoor amongst nature. The wind blew but we felt safe and warm here. Thank you.

December 2021

Our third visit to the barns and we enjoyed our stay as much as ever. The barn is cosy and well equipped. We re-visited the Cafe-on-the-Green and Ullacombe Farm which are still superb. Discovered a lovely walk over the top, into wooded valley and back upwards to Hound Tor about 6 miles in total, but stunning. The Rock Inn was friendly and excellent food, recommend it highly. Many Thanks!

Having stayed here many times now, we obviously love this property and have already booked for Easter.

September 2021

We had a brilliant stay. Lovely views from property. Fully recommend.

September 2021

Very much! Booked again!

September 2021

Thoroughly enjoyed our week. Haytor View is a lovely place to stay. Spotlessly clean and very welcoming. Thank you,

September 2021

A lovely place to stay - our second visit and we hope to come again next year. We had a wonderful stay - just love this place and the location. Looking forward to next year already. Thank you so much.

September 2021

Lovely homely cottage set in a perfect location. We came here 2 years ago and have already booked again for next year. Fantastic location for the coast and lots of great walks on the moor. We had, again, a great break. Thank you again!

August 2021

Really great stay, very homely everything you need and a few board games to play of an evening. Lots to do locally with walks on the Moors, the farm shop, and great local pubs for dinner (The Carpenter’s Arms and The Star Inn). Great personal touches with a delicious cake and warm blankets! I would recommend Haytor Barns cottages and re-visit. Thank you!

August 2021

we had a lovely stay at Haytor and would certainly stay again if we are visiting that area. We would also recommend to others.

July 2021

Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for the milk and cake, greatly appreciated as we left ours in the fridge. Great place to stay with everything you need for the week. We’ve eaten at both The Rock Inn and Moorland Hotel – both lovely meals and the garden at the Rock Inn cool and relaxing. Evening circular walks recommended as everyone has gone home and you get to see some great wildlife. Thanks for a lovely stay.

June 2021

Beautiful and well organised cottage with everything we needed. We've loved being able to walk up to Haytor and the Quarry. Ullacombe Farm is a brilliant farm shop and well worth a visit. Thank you.

June 2021

Lovely week here with everything one could ask for from child bits like the blackout blind to adult extras like games. Thanks for everything.

June 2021

We've had a fantastic holiday Thank you! Loved walking on the moor, beautiful views. We explored the beaches at Ness Cove, Shaldon, and Dawlish Warren (lovely sandy beach). The Rock Inn is superb. A lovely terrace at the Moorland Hotel too. One of the best showers we've had staying in a place like this!!! Thank you

May 2021

Thank you for another wonderful stay. Beautiful comfy barn with everything and more! We had a great time exploring the Moors, the beaches and the steam train! Perfect location. Thank you for the yummy cake!

May 2021

Lovely place, clean and tidy, great location for walking, nice cake! The Rock Inn for good food. Had some wet and cold walks then the next day got a bit sunburnt! Whatever the weather we love Dartmoor and will return.

May 2021

We did enjoy our stay despite the weather being awful, it rained most of the time but we still managed to get out and about. As usual with several properties we've stayed with various companies the recycling and waste disposal info was a little contradictory and in this instance we were asked to use food waste bags but none were provided (we bought some) neither was a small kitchen food caddy supplied so I had to improvise. Lighter weight duvets would also have been appreciated, far too warm & heavy.

May 2021

Very enjoyable stay and being able to take our dog was great. Lovely location and lots of great eating places, will be even better once everything opens up fully. Even though it slept 6 I wouldn’t want anymore than 4 in the property.

May 2021

Lovely comfy accommodation. Good view of Haytor on a clear day. Enjoyed our stay apart from the awful weather but its not the fault of the premises. Suggest lighter duvets as those supplied are far too warm! Everything else in the barn was perfect. Thank you.

April 2021

Love, love, loved it! Gorgeous cottage in an amazing location - just walk across the road and you're on the moor. The shared garden might be a problem for some dogs, but ours made a friend and loved zooming with her.

April 2021

Had a fab short break! Weather has been amazing and the house is perfect. Love the ‘snug’ sitting area. Walk to Haytor rock - not far as it looks, I promise! Try the Rugglestone Inn - really good food and a charming setting. Great service from Toadhall as always :) Many thanks for the lovely cake - kept us going all week.

April 2021

What a beautiful place and view. We had a wonderful week and the walks from the house up to Haytor. Our daughters particularly enjoyed seeing ponies from their bedroom window! We hope to be back again next year. Thank you for being great hosts. Thank you for the cake!

November 2020

We love The Barns and hope to visit them regularly for many years to come.

October 2020

We had a fantastic week in this beautiful barn. A real home away from home. So much to do in the area, we will def be back. Highlights include House of Marbles, Ullacombe Farm cafe and shop, Pennywell Farm and Bigbury-on-sea! Not to forget the beautiful walks right outside the front door!! Just fabulous! Thank you for the yummy cake too!

October 2020

We had a great stay. Loved the welcome cake and all the extras; cling film, tin foil, loo rolls, kitchen towel, washing up liquid and cloths, tea/coffee and dishwasher tablets.... oh and bin bags. These things make all the difference! Great location. Covid meant that we didn’t make use of the nearby eateries.... but hopefully another time. Farm shop was very good. Thank you ????

October 2020

Stunning location and excellent accommodation. Secluded walks round BagTor back of Rippon and across to the Ten Commandments. Excellent community shop in Ilsington.

October 2020

Really good accommodation in a great location. Visited parts of Devon never seen before on this holiday, Canonteign Falls, Vennford and Tottiford reservoirs, Stone Lane gardens. Thank you for the welcome cake we enjoyed that immensely.

September 2020

We've had an amazing time celebrating Mum's 80th. Glorious weather and perfect accommodation - we booked to come again next year. Thank you!

September 2020

Thank you so much. It has been such a lovely place to say and wonderful to be back on Dartmoor!

September 2020

We had a wonderful stay. The property was wonderful. We most appreciated the view and location.

September 2020

Our second visit to Haytor Barns and absolutely love the location. 'Haytor View' as you'd expect, has the most wonderful views of Haytor! Very comfortable well-equipped cottage and the welcome pack including a very indulgent chocolate cake was very much appreciated - Nice touch! Fantastic walks straight from the door and beautiful sunsets over Haytor. Lots of gorgeous wee foals and ponies plus all the other wildlife to watch.

August 2020

We've all had a really lovely weeks holiday. Weather fine with just a little rain shower. Very handy for lots of interesting places to visit. The moors looked splendid with gorse and heather; and the ponies with their young ones - gorgeous! Thanks for everything!

August 2020

We had a lovely stay at Haytor View.

February 2020

Great accommodation. We tried to walk as much as the weather would allow. Thankfully the accommodation was well stocked with games. Local pubs provided fantastic meals - the Lock Inn and the Mooreland hotel. Breakfast or coffee/cake at Ullacombe farm is a must.

November 2019

This was my daughter's 8th stay in this property which always feels so welcoming. New parking arrangement very helpful. Hope to be back at Easter.

September 2019

The cottage was perfect for us and our dog The booking and correspondence from Toad Hall all excellent

September 2019

Our stay was very enjoyable - a lovely property in a very lovely location.

September 2019

We have had a lovely 3 generations holiday. A lovely cottage and setting. We have visited Teignmouth and Buckfast. Paignton Zoo is great for all the family. Lovely comfortable beds, a good kitchen/dining area layout which has enabled us to have great family evenings together! * Widecombe On The Moor is also lovely, highly recommend the cream teas in the cafe on the Green!

September 2019

Stayed in August 2019 - Lovely comfortable cottage. Fantastic location. Loved walking straight out onto Dartmoor with Woody, our cocker spaniel. Beaches not too far away. We really liked Dawlish, Paignton and Brixham. We'd love to come back again, many thanks!

August 2019

Lovely property in ideal position on the moors which was clean and well equipt. This is out second stay here and would be happy to come again!

August 2019

We have had a fantastic week in Haytor View. The cottage is so comfortable and so well equipped. We have enjoyed walks on Dartmoor and a few trips to the beach. It has been very sociable with other neighbours and their friendly dogs. I am sure we will be back, thank you!

August 2019

Stayed July 2019 - We have had a great 2 weeks at Haytor View. The barn was extremely comfortable with stunning views; the weather has also been exceptional. Food at Moorland Hotel great and only a short walk away with fabulous grounds (dog friendly). For us, the best location, we will be back!

June 2019

We had a wonderful stay at Haytor View. It was brilliantly situated for assess straight onto the moor. We will visit again soon.

February 2019

We had a lovely time at Haytor View. The chest of games was a delightful surprise for the children.

January 2019

A lovely, if chilly, week on glorious Dartmoor! Comfy house was a good warm base for exploring. The cake was yummy! Many thanks for your hospitality.

November 2018

This property has wow factor! Ideal for our family group with grandparents downstairs in en suite bedroom and ideal family accommodation upstairs. So well thought out and so cosy for an October/November week. All the electrical appliances worked well (in our extensive experience this is unusual!). We had amazing weather and, of course, the views are to die for! We’ll be back.

October 2018

We loved our stay. The house is well priced, in an excellent location (although there was quite of bit of road noise on the road side of the house) and suited us well. We would love to return. Have checked for next Christmas but seems to already be booked - please advise.

July 2018

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a fabulous holiday. We cannot fault the property, location or the service from Toad Hall Cottages. We were very impressed. We would definitely use Toad Hall Cottages in the future and have no hesitation in recommending you to family and friends. Many thanks.

June 2018

Yes, it was exactly what we wanted being right on the moors

March 2018

Fantastic place,so beautiful and peaceful , Everything was perfect for us and my girlfriend and me had a great time, We would love to return at some point.

December 2017

We had a very good time at this holiday cottage and look forward to being there again soon. Thank you so much!

November 2017

The cottage is in a fabulous location and comfortably equipped. Showers are excellent. Provision of vacuum cleaner and mop was much appreciated with two dogs. Plenty of maps and information about the area. Ullacombe farm shop and butchers was a great place to shop, the pasties were delicious and made a perfect packed lunch when we were walking.

November 2017

October 2017

This was my 5th stay at Haytor View and as always, very comfortable and welcoming. Our only problem is with getting enough hot water in the morning for 3 showers. I find myself having to get up at 6.30 am to shower first and then allow the system to recover before my children get up. Waiting for hot water means we are late getting out in the morning. Apart from this, we love our stay ay Haytor View and will be returning at Easter.

We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at Haytor View again. We are delighted to hear you have booked another visit and speaking of which the owner is delighted to confirm that with regards to the hot water there is a new system in place now which eliminates the need to wait for the water to reheat so there will now be enough hot water for everyone! We very much look forward to welcoming you back to Haytor View at Easter!

August 2017

Fantastic position as we wanted to walk on the moors and it was also handy for other areas of South Devon. Barn had been converted to a very high standard and it was a real 'home from home'. I cooked most nights and it was very well equipt and a large Sainsburys was only down the road at Newton Abbot. We would like to return to this property at some stage.

May 2017

A fabulous location, with Haytor and Dartmoor on your doorstep. We loved the tranquility of the location and the property. This is our second stay at Haytor Barns and it will not be our last!

May 2017

We loved this accommodation and will be returning in August (booked). The one item I would really like to be included is a clothes airer for drying washing. Many thanks

We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay at Haytor View. There is a clothes airer at the property which is kept in the under stair cupboard - we will ensure that a note of where to find this is added to the guest information folder. We hope to welcome you back to Haytor View soon. Best wishes, The Toad Hall Team.
